Requirements
GravityZone AI Visibility and Control (AIVC) is available in GravityZone Cloud as an add-on licensed per protected endpoint. It requires an eligible base product that provides EDR or PHASR capabilities.
AIVC supports Windows endpoints on which the Risk Management module is installed.
Eligible yearly licenses
The AIVC add-on can be used with the following products and configurations:
GravityZone Business Security Enterprise
Bitdefender GravityZone Defense XDR
GravityZone Endpoint Detection and Response, including eligible EDR and Ultra add-on configurations
Bitdefender PHASR Standalone
Bitdefender PHASR Add-on
Eligible Bitdefender MDR and MDR Plus products
Eligible Bitdefender MXDR and MXDR Plus products
AIVC cannot be activated for a company whose base license provides neither EDR nor PHASR capabilities. The AIVC add-on supplements the existing base license and does not replace it.
For yearly licenses, the number of AIVC seats must comply with the endpoint quantity of the associated GravityZone license.
Availability for monthly licensed partners
Monthly licensed partners can use AIVC with the following protection models:
Secure
Secure Plus
Secure Extra
AIVC is available for companies using the Endpoint Security product type.
Partners can activate AIVC:
For their own endpoints.
For resale to managed companies.
For both their own endpoints and managed companies.
Own-use and resale rights are managed independently. Disabling AIVC for the partner's own endpoints does not disable the partner's right to offer it to managed companies.
A managed company can use AIVC only when the parent partner is authorized to resell the add-on and AIVC is enabled for that company.
Policies
To enable AI Visibility and Control on an endpoint, edit the policy applied to that endpoint, go to Risk Management > General, enable Risk Management, and select the AI visibility and control checkbox under AI risks. Activating the AIVC add-on only makes the feature available to the company; it does not enable AI risk scanning automatically. If the checkbox is not selected, AIVC does not collect or analyze AI usage data from the endpoints to which the policy applies.
Note
For AI Visibility and Control to collect and analyze the endpoint data required to discover AI usage and assess related risks, the Use Bitdefender Global Protective Network to enhance protection checkbox must be selected in the policy applied to the monitored endpoints. You can find this option under General > Agent > Settings > Options. If the option is disabled, AI Visibility and Control cannot receive the required endpoint telemetry.
Endpoint requirements
AIVC monitoring is active on an endpoint only when all the following conditions are met:
The company has an active AIVC entitlement.
The endpoint uses a supported Windows operating system.
Risk Management is included in the endpoint security package installed on the endpoint.
Risk Management is enabled in the policy assigned to the endpoint.
AIVC is enabled in the same policy.
The endpoint has received the updated policy.
Note
Enabling AIVC in a policy does not automatically install the Risk Management module. If the module is missing, reconfigure or redeploy the endpoint security package with Risk Management included.
Permissions
Users require the appropriate company-licensing permissions to activate the AIVC add-on and policy-management permissions to enable or disable AIVC in endpoint policies.
For administrators who manage multiple companies, AIVC availability is determined according to the entitlement of the currently selected company.
License expiration, suspension, or removal
If the AIVC entitlement expires, is suspended, or is removed, AIVC is treated as unavailable for the affected company. This does not disable Risk Management or affect other add-ons associated with the base license.
Activating AI Visibility and Control
Using AI Visibility and Control requires two separate actions:
Activate the AIVC add-on for the company.
Enable AI visibility and control under AI risks in the policies assigned to the endpoints you want to monitor.
Activating the add-on makes AIVC available to the company. It does not automatically enable AI risk scanning or install the required Risk Management module.
Activate AIVC for a yearly licensed company
Before activating the add-on, make sure that the company has an eligible base license that provides EDR or PHASR capabilities.
Obtain and assign the AIVC add-on to the company through the applicable GravityZone licensing flow.
Make sure that the licensed quantity complies with the endpoint quantity of the associated base license.
Verify that the AIVC entitlement is active for the company.
After the entitlement becomes active, the AI Visibility and Control section becomes available in GravityZone and the AI visibility and control checkbox becomes available in the Risk Management policy settings.
Activate AIVC for a monthly licensed company
Monthly licensed partners can activate AIVC when creating a company or by editing the monthly subscription of an existing company.
Go to Companies.
Create a company or select an existing company and open its subscription settings.
Make sure that the company uses the Secure, Secure Plus, or Secure Extra protection model.
Enable AI Visibility and Control for the company's own use.
If the company is a partner that can offer AIVC to managed companies, enable the corresponding resale option.
Save the changes.
For partner companies, own-use and resale activation are independent. You can enable AIVC for the partner's endpoints, for resale to managed companies, or for both.
Note
If resale is disabled for a partner, AIVC is also disabled for its managed companies. Re-enabling resale does not automatically reactivate AIVC for those companies. Enable the add-on again for each applicable managed company.
