New features

Bitdefender Container Image Scanner now supports scanning of container images hosted in generic Docker registries that are compliant with the Docker Registry HTTP API V2 or OCI Distribution Specification v1.0.0.

bcst-cli has been updated with new commands to handle registry authentication and scanning of generic Docker/OCI registries.

Improvements

  • The Bitdefender Container Image Scanner caching mechanism has been improved. Up to 50 recent scan results can now be stored, independent of scan type. This prevents unnecessary cache clearing between different scan types and increases scanning efficiency.

  • A single report is now generated when scanning container images from registries. The -o (--output) parameter now specifies the full file path for this report, instead of the folder where it would be saved.

  • bcst-cli error messages have been improved for better readability.
