Taking ownership of policies
You can take ownership of policies whose owners no longer exist in GravityZone, or of MDR-recommended policies owned by the MDR Service system account.
Note
MDR-recommended policies are automatically created under the MDR Service system account when a company onboards the MDR service.
If the company has exactly one user with write policy permission, that user becomes the policy owner automatically. Otherwise, MDR Service remains the owner, and the Take Ownership button is available for eligible users to claim ownership.
To take ownership of one or multiple policies:
Log in to GravityZone Control Center.
Go to the Policies page from the left side menu.
Select the policies you want to take ownership of.
Click the Take Ownership button in the action toolbar.

You become the new owner of the selected policies. Check the Owner column in the grid to view the change.
To view the policy ownership change in the User Activity page, select your company, Policies for area and Edited for action.
The Take Ownership button is by default hidden in the Policies page. It only becomes visible when you select one or more policies whose owners no longer exist in GravityZone, or policies owned by the MDR Service system account. The button remains hidden when your selection includes a mix of policies with active owners and policies without owners. The button remains hidden when your selection includes policies with existing and deleted owners.
You can only take ownership of policies from the same company as your GravityZone account.
