Configuring the environment for Central Scan

If you want to scan a high number of endpoints, the policy must have the following settings:

  1. For each group of endpoints, set a policy with the specific number of Security Server, and set Security Server Load Balancing to Equal distribution mode. For more information, refer to Security Server load balancing.

  2. Don’t use the same Security Server in more than one policy, and make sure all policies that use the Security Server have the same load balancing algorithm selected.

  3. All Security Servers must have the same hardware configuration.

    Note

    Do not use a high limit of endpoints per Security Server. Add an extra Security Server for every high limit to avoid the Overloaded status. For more information, refer to Security Server Status.

  4. To avoid protection loss during a maintenance window, the BEST installation package must have the following hybrid scan mode: Central Scan with fallback on Local Scan. For more information, refer to Antimalware.
