Resolve Advanced Anti-Exploit incompatibility with Symantec PGP plugin for Outlook

Due to an incompatibility with the GravityZone Advanced Anti-Exploit, you might experience one or more of the following issues when using the Symantec PGP plugin in Outlook:

  • An error message will appear when launching the plugin.

  • The plugin buttons for Sign and Encrypt will not be displayed.

If Advanced Anti-Exploit is used to monitor Outlook, Symantec PGP plugin for Outlook will not load and/or will be disabled.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to GravityZone Control Center.

  2. Select Policies from the left side menu.

  3. Click the name of the policy you are using.

  4. Go to Antimalware > Advanced Anti-Exploit.

  5. Expand the Predefined Windows Applications drop-down menu and select Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook.

  6. Disable the Shellcode EAF (Export Address Filtering) option.

  7. Click the Save button.

  8. Click the Save button again.
