Migrate Security Server NSX-V and NSX-T to Security Server Multi-Platform

Before migrating to Security Server Multi-Platform, you must remove the NSX integrations. For more information, refer to Remove the NSX-T integration or Remove the NSX-V integration.

To migrate to Security Server Multi-Platform, you must follow these steps:

  1. Login to GravityZone Control Center.

  2. Go to Configuration > Update > Components > Security Server (VMware, Nutanix).

  3. Select the checkbox next to the available image.

  4. Deploy the Security Server. This can be done:

    1. Using a GravityZone Task. For more information, refer to Install Security Server through Control Center.

      Note

This option is available only when a vCenter integration is present.

    2. Manually deploying the .ova image from Network > Installation Packages.

  5. Publish and install BEST. For more information, refer to Security agents.

    Note

To prevent performance issues, uninstall the following drivers before you install BEST:

    • vseplft.sys for Windows endpoints

    • vsepd for Linux endpoints

You might need to restart the system to fully remove the driver.

  6. Create a policy and apply it from the GravityZone Control Center to the endpoints with the BEST agent installed.

    Note

To enable Central Scan, you must add the Security Server to Policies > Antimalware > Security Servers. For more information, refer to Antimalware.

To learn how to configure the environment for Central Scan, refer to Configuring the environment for Central Scan.
