FAQ
What requirements are needed to use Compliance Manager?
The solution is available to all customers with access to the Compliance Manager page. This includes those with Risk Management enabled as part of the following licenses:
- Business Security Premium
- Business Security Enterprise
- GravityZone EDR cloud
- Bitdefender MDR licenses
- GravityZone Cloud MSP Security
For MSPs, the Compliance Manager add-on will be available on top of the core solution, regardless if it's a-la-carte or a security protection module (bundle).
What licensing options are available?
All customers with Compliance Manager access will automatically receive a basic standard, which includes best-practice guidelines, real-time insights, an exportable report, and preview access to advanced standards. Upgrading to a Compliance Manager add-on license unlocks access to advanced standards such as:
CIS v8.0
CMMC 2.0 (US)
Cyber Essentials v3.2 (UK)
DORA (EU)
Essential Eight v2023.11 (AU)
GDPR (EU)
HIPAA (US)
ISO/IEC 27001:2022
MAS TRM 2021 (SG)
NCSC CAF v4.0 (UK)
NIS2 Directive (EU)
NIST CSF 2.0
PCI DSS v4.0.1
SOC 2
Which attack surfaces does Compliance Manager monitor?
Currently, the Compliance Manager monitors endpoints (workstations and servers).
Which compliance frameworks does GravityZone Compliance Manager support?
It supports 16 frameworks and baselines: CIS v8.0, CMMC 2.0 (US), Cyber Essentials v3.2 (UK), DORA (EU), Essential Eight v2023.11 (AU), GDPR (EU), HIPAA (US), ISO/IEC 27001:2022, MAS TRM 2021 (SG), NCSC CAF v4.0 (UK), NIS2 Directive (EU), NIST CSF 2.0, PCI DSS v4.0.1, and SOC 2. A basic Cyber Hygiene baseline for Windows is included for eligible customers; the advanced frameworks need the add-on license.
Does Compliance Manager guarantee I will pass an audit?
No. It helps you assess and maintain compliance with its listed standards and prepares audit-ready evidence, but it does not replace internal compliance work and does not guarantee a passing audit. Bitdefender recommends working with an approved auditor for official certifications.
Do I need to install another agent?
No. It reads findings already produced by the Risk Management module, so eligible customers see compliance results without installing or upgrading anything on the endpoint.
Can MSPs and MSSPs offer Compliance Manager to clients?
Yes. The add-on is available on top of the core solution, a-la-carte or bundled. It manages compliance across multiple tenants, exposes gaps instantly, and produces audit-ready reports, so providers can deliver compliance-as-a-service to managed clients.
What reports can I generate, and in what formats?
You can generate detailed reports from the Compliance Page in PDF or XLSX. Reports include all dashboard data and any modifications, giving a complete record of compliance status for auditors and internal stakeholders.
How is this different from a GRC platform like Vanta or Drata?
GRC platforms manage compliance processes and questionnaire-based evidence. Compliance Manager scores your posture from live endpoint security and risk telemetry inside GravityZone. As you fix misconfigurations, the score updates automatically, tying security outcomes to compliance status.
