How do I disable promotional messages in Bitdefender?

Whenever promotional offers are available, Bitdefender will notify you through a pop-up window or via e-mail. This gives you the opportunity to benefit from advantageous prices and keep your devices protected for a longer period of time. To stop receiving promotional messages, follow the steps below.

Turn off In-Product Messaging

In Bitdefender security solutions for Windows computers (Bitdefender Total Security, Bitdefender Internet Security, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus):

1. Click on Settings on the left-hand side of the Bitdefender interface.

2. In the General tab, toggle to the off position:

To stop In-Product Messaging in Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac:

1. Click on Preferences on the left-hand side of the Bitdefender Antivirus for Mac interface.

2. In the Other tab, toggle Special offers to the off position.

Unsubscribe from promotional e-mails

If you no longer wish to receive automatic emails sent from [email protected] the address used to communicate exclusive Bitdefender offers, notifications, and news, click on the Unsubscribe link available at the bottom of the promotional email.

It is recommended that you also review the privacy preferences set in your Bitdefender Central account:

1. On any internet-connected device launch a web browser, visit https://central.bitdefender.com and sign in to your Bitdefender Central account.

2. Click on your username in the top right corner and select Bitdefender Account in the menu. This option will launch in a new browser tab.

3. Access the Data & Privacy tab, then click on the Privacy preferences section.

4. Uncheck both boxes to stop promotional messages:

Receive in product insights regarding threats, news, and offers.
Receive insights regarding threats, news, and offers via email.

Uninstall Trial versions and Expired apps

After disabling in-product notifications, Bitdefender will continue to keep you informed about special offers if you use a trial version, if your subscription is due to expire or if you use an expired product. As we want to make sure you are fully informed regarding your product’s state, In-Product Messaging for trial versions and expiring products cannot be disabled. The only way to stop getting these promotional messages is to uninstall the product.
