How to Install Bitdefender Web Sage in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome

Step 1. Open the Bitdefender Web Sage page

In Microsoft Edge, open the Bitdefender Web Sage listing in Microsoft Edge Add-ons store.

• Or open Microsoft Edge Add-ons, search for Bitdefender Web Sage, and then select the extension from the search results.

Step 2. Add the extension to Microsoft Edge

1. Click Get.
2. When Edge displays the permissions requested by Bitdefender Web Sage, click Add extension. Edge confirms that Bitdefender Web Sage is installed.

Step 3. Pin and open Web Sage

1. Click the Extensions button (puzzle-piece icon) to the right of the address bar. In the extensions list, click the pin next to Bitdefender Web Sage so its icon remains visible on the toolbar.
2. Click the Bitdefender Web Sage icon near the address bar. Web Sage opens in the Microsoft Edge sidebar.

Step 4. Sign in to your Bitdefender account

1. Click Sign in.
2. Enter your email address and Bitdefender account password to sign in.

Don’t have a Bitdefender account? You’ll need to create one before using Bitdefender Web Sage. Click Create one, then follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 5. Set up Security Advisor

1. Under Set up Security Advisor, choose how much Web Sage can do on its own:
   • Automatic protection (premium feature) – handles threats automatically and acts when it finds one, without interrupting you.
   • Guided protection – checks everything, then asks you before taking action.
2. Then click Save and continue.

ⓘ Note: You can change the protection mode later under Settings → Security Advisor → Autonomy.

Step 6. Let Web Sage complete the first scan

1. Web Sage starts its first scan. The scan checks bookmarks, browsing history, and website permissions; compares them with known threats; and reviews risky access such as notifications, microphone, camera, and location. When the scan finishes, Web Sage displays a summary and opens its main dashboard.
2. Click Done.
