This is implemented for some time now, but it requires a step when uninstalling. So basically when uninstall/reinstall, the option to choose is to pick Reinstall, not Uninstall....

...I previously used Avast, which I uninstalled with the proper uninstaller tool....

The uninstall option for reinstall is crucial, if this is not specified, uninstallation will not save the settings and on a subsequent install the product will get configured with the defaults....

The uninstall tool also fails with an error. I need the manual process at this point to strip everything out.

I have same issue , but with Securepass tried uninstalling extension and reinstalling but just keeps asking for recovery keys it won't accept any
