I had it uninstalled and installed BD after restart. I contacted Norton and they sent a Remove and Reinstall tool to delete traces of their software....

As for the workaround, you could uninstall Bitdefender, then install Bittorrent, reinstall Bitdefender, set the exception for ATD then check if the program is still being blocked by the antivirus....
