How to Switch from Bitdefender Password Manager to SecurePass

Bitdefender Password Manager will reach end of life on June 15, 2026. To maintain access to your saved passwords and secure notes, install SecurePass and import your data by June 15, 2026.

Bitdefender is offering all active Bitdefender Password Manager subscribers a free upgrade to SecurePass, its latest password management solution. Bitdefender SecurePass delivers advanced security, streamlined functionality, and new features such as:

Password Sharing: Share passwords securely with individuals, groups, or via links.
Folder Organization: Organize your passwords into folders for better management.
Web Client: Access your passwords from any browser at securepass.bitdefender.com.

After upgrading, SecurePass will have the same expiration date as your current Bitdefender Password Manager subscription. Renewal subscriptions will apply to Bitdefender SecurePass moving forward.

1. Open the Bitdefender Password Manager app or browser extension.

2. Navigate to Settings:

On desktop: Click the menu ≡ in the sidebar, then select ⚙︎ Settings.
On mobile: Tap the Settings menu.

3. Scroll to the Data section and select Export data.

4. Choose an export format:

CSV: Saves data in plain text format.
Password-protected file: Encrypts your exported file with a password.

5. Enter your master password and click Export data.

6. Save the exported file to your device.

Step 4: Import Your Data into SecurePass

1. Open the SecurePass browser extension or mobile app and log in with your Bitdefender account.

2. Navigate to Settings:

On desktop: Click Settings in the top-right corner.

3. In the Backup and restore section, click Import passwords.

4. Select Bitdefender Password Manager as the file type.

If you exported the file in CSV format, leave the password field blank.
If you exported the file as password-protected file, enter the password you set (not your Bitdefender Password Manager master password, unless you used it as the file protection password).

5. Choose the exported file and then click Import.

6. Once complete, a folder named Import will appear in your SecurePass vault containing the imported data.
