End of support for Bitdefender Security Server based on Ubuntu 16.04 and 20.04

Bitdefender is aligning the Security Server support with currently supported Ubuntu LTS releases and is leaving Ubuntu 16.04 and 20.04 behind to focus only on current supported versions.

Starting June 30, 2026, GravityZone no longer supports Security Server deployments based on Ubuntu 16.04 or 20.04.

If you are currently using a Security Server running Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 20.04 or an earlier Ubuntu version, you are strongly advised to replace it with a Security Server deployed on a supported Ubuntu version.

To replace the Security Server, follow these steps:

  1. Uninstall the existing  Security Server.

Important

Security Servers running on Ubuntu 16.04 or Ubuntu 20.04 will no longer be supported or receive product updates after June 30, 2026, but will continue to receive security content updates.

Please note that Bitdefender shall not be liable for any security incidents, data breaches, system failures, or other damages arising from the continued use of unsupported Security Server versions after this date.

Bitdefender recommends migrating  to a supported Security Server deployment as soon as possible to ensure continued compatibility, security updates, and technical support.
