New Features and Improvements

  • Added support for macOS Mojave (10.14).
    note Note:
    macOS Mojave (10.14) by default blocks applications’ access to specific folders and resources for enhanced privacy protection. For Endpoint Security for Mac to scan such protected folders, the user must go to Security & Privacy preferences, Privacy section, and allow full disk access for the BDLDaemon and EndpointSecurityforMac.app application files, located in /Library/Bitdefender/AVP. Administrator privileges are required to make these changes. The Endpoint Security for Mac user interface will show a critical issue prompting user for access. The issue disappears once access is granted.
  • Enhanced EDR Sensor incident detection and reporting capabilities.
  • GravityZone administrators are now able to respond to security incidents uncovered by EDR Sensor using the following actions:
    • Isolating endpoints from network.
    • Blocking file execution based on MD5 and SHA-256.
    • Moving suspicious files to quarantine.
    • Terminating suspicious processes.
  • Added support for the Device Control module to:
    • Unmount and eject USB storage devices when applying the Block rule.
    • Detect and block SD cards connected via built-in SD card reader on iMac and Mac Mini.
    • Detect and report device ID and Product ID for SD cards, Thunderbolt and internal devices (LAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) to the GravityZone console.
    • Display notification pop-ups as configured in the GravityZone console.

Known Issues

  • When isolating the endpoint, EDR Sensor does not interrupt:
    1. SSH and Screen Sharing connections already established.
    2. Connection with network shares already mounted.
