Collaboration Includes Award-Winning BitDefender Antivirus Protection on New Freescale Security Appliance Solutions

BUCHAREST, Romania – March 01, 2010 – BitDefender®, an award-winning provider of innovative anti-malware security solutions, and Freescale Semiconductor, a global leader in the design and manufacture of embedded semiconductors for the automotive, consumer, industrial and networking markets, today announced a new collaboration to provide BitDefender’s industry-leading antivirus and antispam protection on Freescale’s new security appliance solutions integrated with Freescale’s VortiQa software. Freescale recently announced four new comprehensive solutions for the UTM/security appliance markets, which are designed to help security appliance OEMs more quickly and cost-effectively deliver a range of security applications, including UTM appliances, IPS/IDS appliances, content security appliances, secured routers, VPN routers, secured switches and business gateways.  The addition of BitDefender’s antivirus and antispam protection further enhances the security capabilities of these new platforms with real-time virus, malware and spam detection. BitDefender protection will be integrated with Freescale’s VortiQa application software.
