How to open and submit the scan reports



  1. How to access the reports vscan.log. or vshield.log.

    The reports can be consulted directly from Bitdefender's console:

    1. Open Bitdefender's console.
    2. Click Antivirus (left) then Report (top).
    3. Open the scan report.

      Select the desired report and press Show (bottom). The report will open in Notepad.

    An alternative useful if Bitdefender console is unavailable is to open the report from its location on disk.

    1. Open Windows Explorer.
    2. Set the file extension visibility.

      This step is not required if the file extensions are already visible in Windows Explorer.

      Select Tools, then Folder Options and click View. Uncheck the option Hide extensions for known file types.

    3. Browse to the report location and open it.

      The file is located in the folder:

      C:\Program Files\Softwin\Bitdefender Desktop\

      Double-click the desired report to open it. Select Notepad from the list of available applications if none is already associated with the log extension.

  2. How to submit the scan report to Bitdefender's Support Team.
    1. Save the scan report and attach it to an e-mail message.

      Save the report file on Desktop. Use the e-mail client to attach the file to a new e-mail message.

      Alternatively, select all the content of the report file (CTRL + A), copy it (CTRL + C), and paste the content into the body of a new message (CTRL + V).

    2. Send the message to support@bitdefender.com.
