Syrian Electronic Army Hacks Xbox Support Twitter Account

The official Xbox Support Twitter Account has been hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army (SEA), according to Cyber War News.

The SEA hacking group twice announced the breach of Microsoft’s Xbox Twitter account, stating that they are playing with it. Shortly after, the SEA took over the official Xbox live support Twitter account and actively posted from the @XboxSupport account.

The account breach was confirmed by Microsoft:

“Microsoft is aware of targeted cyberattacks that temporarily affected the Xbox Support and Microsoft News Twitter accounts,” a Microsoft spokesperson told Softpedia. “The accounts were quickly reset and we can confirm that no customer information was compromised.”

The group seems to have set sights on Microsoft after hacking Skype’s Facebook and Twitter accounts to avenge their alleged collaboration with government surveillance.
