BitDefender showcases new technologies

Last year's novelty is this year's industry standard, and the virus writers are cooperating and sharing code more than ever before. "Our development team recognizes the need for constant change and innovation, so BitDefender technologies are in continuous flux", says Bogdan Irina, Marketing and Sales Director at BitDefender. BitDefender latest technologies will be showcased by the BitDefender team at the Infosecurity Europe 2004, in London, between 27 and 29 of April in the booth 50. BitDefender AntiSpam incorporates a high-performance text classifier based on the latest technologies in both heuristic and bayesian filtering. Initial tests suggest the triple-layer approach to spam filtering provides marked advantages in accuracy over single-filter approaches. "Update pushing" is the ultimate way to reduce cost and admin overhead when updating AV or AS solutions: the order to update is sent from a BitDefender server and BitDefender products start downloading the update immediately - no scheduling necessary, no admin intervention whatsoever. LinuxDefender is more of a prototype and proof of concept than a new technology. It's a Knoppix based Linux distribution on a bootable CD, packed with security tools from BitDefender. Although incorporating the latest in BitDefender technologies, the real novelty about this distribution is that it provides a self-contained virus incident rescue kit, for Windows and *nix based stations alike - in one package. Show attendants who receive the demo CDs from BitDefender representatives can benefit from a special offer: 25% off list price for all BitDefender products featured on the CD. The offer is valid only for the duration of the show. BitDefender new technologies are available online, on the BitDefender global or regional websites, or at local offices and distributors around the globe. Commercial versions of BitDefender start from USD 29.99 and are available online for 30-days free evaluation.
