Google Rolls Out Chrome 102 with Critical Security Fixes. Update Now!

Google is delivering internet users worldwide the latest version of its powerful Chrome web browser for desktop and mobile platforms, including a slew improvements and security fixes. Chrome users should update quickly, as the release fixes some pressing security flaws.
“The Chrome team is delighted to announce the promotion of Chrome 102 to the stable channel for Windows […] Mac and Linux,” writes Srinivas Sista for the Google Chrome team.
The version number differs depending on the user’s configuration and operating system, but everyone is getting the same goods.
For desktop users, Chrome 102 packs no less than 32 fixes for security issues, including many high-severity bugs, as detailed in the changelog.
One flaw, identified as CVE-2022-1853, is rated Critical, meaning at least one serious bug in Chrome needs urgent patching. In that respect, Chrome desktop users shouldn’t postpone updating.
In its usual fashion, the internet giant offers some handsome bug bounties totaling close to $60,000 (without counting $TBD rewards), incentivizing researchers to keep mining for security flaws to strengthen future iterations of Chrome against cyber crime.
Android and iOS users are also getting Chrome 102. Both mobile releases include the usual “stability and performance improvements,” with the iOS client also getting a couple new features.
