Google Fixes Five High-Severity Flaws in Chrome 92 for Windows, Mac and Linux

Google this week is rolling out Chrome version 92 for Windows, Mac and Linux addressing a number of high-severity vulnerabilities that an attacker could exploit to take control of an unpatched system.

According to the Chrome releases blog, the Stable channel has been updated to version 92.0.4515.131, which will roll out in coming days or weeks for Windows, Mac and Linux.

The full list of changes is available in the official changelog, but Google draws immediate attention to several flaws patched in this release, and the rewards issued to the researchers who found and reported them.

Seven vulnerabilities are fixed in this version, including five rated high-severity bugs that malicious actors can exploit to take over an affected system.

Google refrains from publishing the particularities of these flaws to avoid giving bad actors ideas about how to exploit them, and to give users time to patch their browsers.

The company is handing out more than $55,000 in rewards to the researchers who reported the flaws.

If you are a Google Chrome user, you should update your browser as soon as possible. To do so, go to the three-dotted button in the upper right-hand corner of your Chrome browser, then go to Settings -> About Chrome and choose to update Chrome to the latest release.
