Understanding Cloud Security for Endpoints accounts

Cloud Security for Endpoints by Bitdefender protects systems using security technology that has been rated number one time and time again. It does not require on-site server hardware and maintenance as it is managed by Cloud Security Console, a powerful and intuitive interface to a solution that can scale to defend any number of systems, no matter where they are located.

The Cloud Security Console accounts system allows for a multilevel hierarchy of customers and service providers. You can create two types of accounts:

Partner accounts are intended for companies that sell the Cloud Security for Endpoints service to other companies (end users, distributors or resellers of the service).

Company (or customer) accounts are intended for companies that use the Cloud Security for Endpoints service to protect their computer networks. Such accounts can only be used for installing, configuring, managing and monitoring protection. Company account administrators can create two other types of accounts for internal use:

• Administrator accounts offer full access to all areas of the console, allowing users full control over Cloud Security for Endpoints. The company administrator can allow access to the entire network or to a specific computer group only.
• Reporter accounts offer limited access to the console features. Users can only view the dashboard, reports and activity log sections, without being able to view or change the network or security configuration. The company administrator can allow access to the entire network or to a specific computer group only.

Internal user accounts can be used to delegate administrative and reporting responsibilities (especially useful for companies with large or geographically dispersed networks).
Customers' computer networks can be directly managed, enabling partners to provide value-added services to their customers.

*Note:To protect their own computer network, partners must also create a company account in addition to their partner account.
