The prestigious VB 100 Award finds its way to Bucharest again
Bitdefender Standard was awarded the VB100, the Virus Bulletin certification that the product is able to detect all the viruses which are currently extant in the wild. Once again, BitDefender passed with flying colours, and the test team noticed an improvement in the overall detection rates from previous tests.
An additional test by the Virus Bulletin team was aimed at measuring reaction times (i.e. how long it takes for the AV companies to provide signatures in case of an epidemic). We are proud to report that BitDefender came out on top of the charts, one hour and forty-five minutes before anyone else, in the case of the Sober.C outbreak.
The test is the first in a series which will continue throughout the year, aiming to measure the overall performance of antivirus producers. If this year's first epidemic is anything to judge by, BitDefender is a top contender.
