Bitdefender won the special award "Most Innovative Company with Romanian Ownership" at the 10-year anniversary gala of Wall-Street Romania, one of the major online publishers in the local market.

Enterprise technologies developed together with technology companies such as Intel, Bitdefender’s cloud – one of the biggest private clouds in the market - and Hypervisor-based memory introspection are among the breakthrough technologies that contributed to Bitdefender’s win.

"Bitdefender is one of the biggest innovation incubators in the world,” Bitdefender Chief Security Researcher Alex Bălan told the audience of entrepreneurs and executives at the gala. “Since I joined Bitdefender in 2004, we started 42 major research and development projects, and two of them are now breakthrough technologies that earned the trust of hundreds of millions of customers. Any employee who brings an idea that is validated with a business case can witness how it becomes reality. Usually boards are reluctant to invest in new ideas, but Bitdefender has always been flexible in encouraging intrapreneurship.”

Owned and founded by Florin Talpeș, a well-known entrepreneur for the 20 years in which he has built Bitdefender, the company is a global business with activities in more than 150 countries. It secures over 500 million users, from private individuals to employees of the world’s largest corporations.

This autumn, Bitdefender also won the “Most Innovative Company in Romania” special award for its breakthrough Bitdefender BOX product from Business Magazin, Romania's most prominent business weekly. BOX is considered a revolutionary product that will redefine consumer security, has consolidated Bitdefender’s reputation as a driver of innovative thinking in Central and Eastern Europe.
