BitDefender and MediaFire Announce OEM Partnership To Offer Advanced Anti-Virus Protection to Millions

Internet security leader to provide anti-virus and malware detection capabilities for MediaFireБ─≥s 110 million monthly users worldwide

SANTA CLARA, CALIFORNIA – July 6th, 2011 – Marking another step in the growth of its OEM business, BitDefender®, an award-winning provider of innovative internet security solutions, announced its partnership with MediaFire, a leading provider of online storage and backup and file sharing, to offer MediaFire users advanced anti-virus protection and malware detection capabilities.

All users of MediaFire.com who upload their files to MediaFire will be scanned for malware using Virus Scan, powered by BitDefender. Files that do not have malware will continue to be uploaded without interruption, while Virus Scan flags any infected files. If an infected file is found, MediaFire will notify the user to fix the infected file. If the user does not have anti-virus protection, they will be able to download the BitDefender Internet Security software to fix the infected files.

Once the user downloads BitDefender Internet Security, Internet Security will scan the entire system for additional hidden malware to ensure the user feels safe that their system is free from malware. Virus Scan, powered by BitDefender, offers MediaFire’s 110 million monthly users worldwide peace of mind knowing that they can store and share files without having to worry about viruses or other malware threats.
