How to Install and Set Up Bitdefender App on macOS

1. Wait while security features download and install in the background.
2. Set up the security service by following the steps specific to your macOS version. Which macOS is installed?

macOS Tahoe (26)

1. Click “Open System Settings”.
2. Scroll down to Extensions, filter “By Category”, then click the information icon ⓘ next to “Endpoint Security Extensions”.
3. Switch on “Bitdefender Agent”.
4. When prompted, enter your Mac password, click OK, then “Done”.
5. In the left-hand menu, scroll down and select “Privacy & Security.” Then, on the right side, click “Full Disk Access”.
6. In the list of applications that require full disk access, switch on:
   – Bitdefender
   – Core Security
   – SecurityService
7. Enter your Mac password to modify settings.
8. Press “Quit & Reopen” to let Bitdefender protect your Mac.

macOS Sequoia (15)

1. Click “Open System Settings”.

5. Go to “Privacy” tab and select Full Disk Access in the column on the left.
6. In the list of applications that require full disk access, switch on:
   – Bitdefender
   – Core Security
   – SecurityService
7. Press “Quit & Reopen” to let Bitdefender protect your Mac.

macOS Big Sur (11.3) – Monterey (12)

1. Click “Open System Preferences”.
2. Select the lock icon in the bottom-left corner and enter your password to unlock it.
3. When prompted, enter your Mac password, then click “Unlock”.
4. Click “Allow” in the bottom-right corner.
5. Go to “Privacy” tab and select Full Disk Access in the column on the left.
6. In the list of applications that require full disk access, check:
   – Core Security
   – SecurityService
7. Press “Quit & Reopen” to let Bitdefender protect your Mac.

Configure the VPN service by following the steps for your macOS version. Which macOS is installed?

1. The VPN service installs automatically in the background.
2. Tap Continue. After a few seconds, the setup automatically moves to the next step.

1. If SecurePass is not yet set up, you will be prompted to create a master password.
2. After creating your master password, save your recovery key. You can copy it to a secure location or download it as a PDF.
3. Click Continue.
4. Click Yes, continue after you have saved the recovery key.

1. Enter the primary email address you use for online accounts, then click Validate email (or Confirm email if the address was already verified).
2. Enter the security code sent to your email, then click Confirm email.
   • If you don’t receive the code within 15 minutes, please check your spam folder as well.
   • The Resend code option becomes available after 15 minutes.
3. After the code is successfully validated, click Continue.
