Deploying Bitdefender agent through GravityZone

GravityZone operates with specific security agents installed on endpoints:

  • Bitdefender Endpoint Security Tools (BEST) on Windows and Linux machines

  • Endpoint Security for Mac on macOS computers

When you choose to deploy the security agent through Kaseya VSA, the Bitdefender plugin creates a default security agent installation package in GravityZone Control Center with the following name KASEYA_Connector_Default. Each managed company and its child company has its individual installation package listed on the page.

Installation packages are visible in Control Center only for the user that created them. If you delete a default package for a company, the plugin creates a new one during the next deployment task. For more information, refer to Synchronizing the Kaseya inventory.

Synchronization tasks do not work on agents running legacy operating systems, showing OS version not supported as status, in the agents table from the Inventory page in the Kaseya VSA console. The following legacy operating systems are no longer supported:

  • Windows XP

  • Windows Vista

  • Windows Server 2003

  • Windows Server 2008

In GravityZone Control Center you can do the following:

Editing default installation package

The plugin creates a default installation package for each managed company, but you can edit it according to your needs.

  2. Go to the Network > Packages page.

  3. Choose a default Kaseya package and click the name to edit.

Deploying Bitdefender agent

You can choose to deploy the Bitdefender security agent on your endpoints if you skipped automatic or manual installation in Kaseya VSA.

To locally install Bitdefender Endpoint Security Tools (BEST) or Endpoint Security for Mac through GravityZone Control Center:

  1. Choose your provisioned KASEYA_Connector_Default package or create a new one according to your needs.

    Note

To create a new installation package for a managed company you need to name it KASEYA_Connector_Default, to work with the plugin. You can view the endpoints in Kaseya VSA under the company associated with the newly created installation package.

  2. Download the installation package on the target endpoint.

  3. Run the installation package on the target endpoint.

    Note

Refer to GravityZone documentation for further information.

Viewing synchronized inventory in Control Center

Once the inventory synchronization is completed, you can view and manage endpoint security in GravityZone Control Center.

  1. Log in to GravityZone Control Center.

  2. Go to Network, in the left-side pane.

A couple of panes are now available, displaying real-time endpoint status.

  3. Select your desired endpoint from the left side pane.

  4. Check the real-time endpoint status in the right side pane table.

Refer to Checking the endpoint status for further information.
