Bitdefender has won the Best Awareness Campaign or Educational Programme award at the 2026 Global Anti-Scam Summit in San Francisco.
The award honored Scam Radar, Bitdefender’s early-warning feature that helps people spot emerging scam waves in their region before they become targets.
Scams are a problem globally. They cross borders quickly, move between social media, text messages, email and messaging apps, and use familiar brands, local news stories and trusted public figures to make their claims feel believable.
AI has raised the stakes further, with criminals using the same technology we use for good to create more convincing phishing messages, fake identities, deepfake videos and fraudulent ads at a scale that was much harder to achieve a few years ago. Scam campaigns can also be tested, changed and localized quickly, making it more difficult for consumers to know what is real.
That’s why awareness needs to be timely, practical and connected to the threats people are actually seeing.
Scam Radar uses real-time threat intelligence to identify emerging scam campaigns, including threats that are active in specific countries or areas. Rather than relying only on generic advice after a scam has already become widely known, it gives you early warnings about suspicious activity that may be reaching your community.
Alerts can include real examples of scam messages or ads, the brands or public figures being impersonated, and practical guidance on what to look out for. This context can help you, your family, and your friends recognize similar attempts in their inboxes, text messages, or social media feeds.
Available through Bitdefender’s Scam Protection and Scam Protection Pro layers in Mobile Security for Android and iOS, Scam Radar brings awareness and protection together in one place. Users can also share alerts with friends and family, helping extend that knowledge beyond a single device.
The award reflects Bitdefender’s commitment to helping consumers worldwide stay safer from scams and fraud.
No organization, product or country can solve this problem alone. Fighting scams requires ongoing collaboration between technology companies, consumer-protection groups, governments, law enforcement and other organizations working to disrupt criminal operations and improve public awareness.
As a founding and advisory board member of the Global Anti-Scam Alliance, Bitdefender is committed to sharing expertise, supporting cross-border collaboration and helping level the playing field for consumers.
We will continue to research the latest scam tactics, work with partners across the industry and innovate our security solutions and tools to help people identify threats earlier and make safer decisions online.
Because scams evolve quickly. Our response must evolve even faster.
