How to Install and Set Up Bitdefender SecurePass on Windows and macOS

Follow these steps to install and set up the Bitdefender SecurePass extension on Windows and macOS web browsers. Bitdefender SecurePass is a multi-platform service that helps you store and organize all your online passwords.

 

Installation

  1. Activate Your Subscription:
  2. Access SecurePass:
  3. Choose Your Browser:
    • Click the name of the web browser you are using (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Safari, or Mozilla Firefox).
  4. Install the Browser Extension:
    • You will be redirected to your browser’s extension store. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the Bitdefender SecurePass extension to your web browser.

Once the browser extension is installed, you can proceed to the setup process.

 

Setup

  1. Sign In:
    • After adding the SecurePass extension to your browser, click on its icon Bitdefender SecurePass in the browser’s toolbar.
      • If you don’t see the SecurePass icon in Edge, Chrome or Firefox click the puzzle piece near the address bar, then select Bitdefender SecurePass from the Extensions menu.hidden extension menu - click the puzzle piece then select Bitdefender SecurePass
    • Log in with the Bitdefender Central account associated with your SecurePass subscription.Login with Bitdefender
  2. Set Up Master Password:
    • Upon signing in, you will be asked to create a master password. This password will unlock your SecurePass vault and encrypt your stored data.
    • Enter a strong and unique master password, then click Save & Continue.master password
  3. Save Your Recovery Key:
    • Next, you will be provided with a recovery key. This key will allow you to recover access to your vault if you forget your master password.
    • Save the recovery key by copying it to your clipboard or downloading it as a PDF.
  4. Access Your Vault:
    • Once the recovery key is saved, press the Access your Vault button to complete the setup and begin using Bitdefender SecurePass.
