Bitdefender Security for Endpoints (cloud-based) Update - July 2014

Bitdefender Security for Endpoints (cloud-based) protects business systems with centralized policy-based control and real-time visibility into the security status and does not require onsite server hardware or maintenance as it is managed by the hosted Bitdefender management console.


This article provides information on the changes delivered with the Bitdefender Security for Endpoints (cloud-console) update released on July 30th 2014. This update focuses on new features and improvements, bringing several enhancements such as supporting Endpoint Security rebranded kits in Control Center, assigning a policy to a whole network using the network tree's context menu or sending download links to installation packages by email.

New Features and Improvements

  • Added support for rebranded Endpoint Security installation packages.
  • New contextual menu option to assign policies to an entire group from the network tree.
  • Computers can now be identified also by their FQDN in the Network inventory.
  • Companies with monthly subscription and their managing partner companies are now notified when exceeding the license seats limit.
  • Users are now notified for each Control Center downtime during updates.
  • New licensing options available when adding or editing a company.
  • New Control Center option to instantly send installation packages download links to specific email addresses.
  • Monthly subscription resellers can now use Bitdefender Control Center to protect their own company networks with no charges.

Resolved Issues

  • In certain situations, the Filters menu could not be accessed after filtering computers by pending/applied policy. This issue is now fixed.
  • After incrementing the number of seats on the license key, the new installed clients did not get licensed. This issue is now fixed.
  • In certain situations, the clients of a company with a valid license key appeared expired. This issue is now fixed.
  • Resolved several Control Center localization issues.
  • Fixed an issue with the Malware Outbreak Notification being sent in certain cases by email even when no endpoint was infected.

Known Issues

  • Companies with expired trial license are listed with a "trial" license type instead of "expired" in the License Status report.
  • Rescheduled install tasks created via Endpoint Security Relay clients have an incorrect status.
  • Restoring from quarantine a file to an inexistent path will add a custom exception in the policy with the bogus path.
