How to clean infected Temporary Internet Files
You can find below the default locations where every internet browser is storing the temporary internet files depending on the operating system:
For Internet Explorer, the most common location is: C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files.
NOTE: The cache may be moved by changing a value in the registry. Occasionally an additional (hidden) cache named "Temporary Internet Files" may appear in:
C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Documents and settings\LocalService\Temp\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
NOTE: The last location can only be deleted by manually accessing the folder and removing it.
For Mozilla Firefox: C:\Documents and Settings\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxx.default\Cache
For Google Chrome: C:\Documents and Settings\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache
For Safari: C:\Documents and Settings\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\Safari\cache.db
For Opera: C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Opera\Opera\cache
Windows Vista / 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10
For Internet Explorer, temporary internet files are usually stored in these locations:
C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\
C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\
For Mozilla Firefox: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxx.default\cache
For Google Chrome: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache
For Safari: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\Safari\cache.db
For Opera: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Opera\Opera\cache
To clean the Temporary Internet Files you should:
1. Reboot in Safe Mode with Networking. Check this article for step by step instructions
2. Then you will have to choose between two options:
• Show hidden files and folders and manually delete the corresponding files
To display hidden files and folders, follow these instructions. Browse to the respective location(s) and delete the file(s), then reboot in Normal Mode.
• Start the corresponding internet browser and use the option to clear Internet Cache:

For Safari: open the browser, then press CTRL+ALT+E from your keyboard, then click on Empty.
For Opera: Hold the Ctrl and Shift keys, then tap Delete. In the new window, check Cached images and files. Note that any other checked items will also be cleared, so un-check any that you do not want to clear. Select the time period from which you'd like to remove history items using the Obliterate the following items from drop-down menu. After that, click on Clear browsing data.
