Anonymous Threatens Turkey after Protesters Charged with Terrorism

The Anonymous hacktivist group has threatened action against the Turkish government to back demands for a halt to persecution of demonstrators protesting the destruction of Istanbul’s Gezi Park, according to Softpedia News.

The Anonymous warning, which also accused Turkish authorities of corruption, was issued shortly after Turkish prosecutors announced they charged 36 Gezi protesters with terrorism, according to The Daily Star.

“You have created a system which ensures the poor remain poor and the wealthy remain wealthy,” the Anonymous hackers stated. “It is now very clear to us that you have no intention of running the country for the people, but you will continue to run it for your own personal interest.”

The RedHack group of Turkish hackers approved the warning. In December, RedHack hacked the Turkish Government Institutions, stealing sensitive data of 54 million Turks.
