The official Dubai Police Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn accounts have been hacked by an Anonymous affiliated hacker, according to Hackread.
The hacker, known as @TheHorsemenLulz , tweeted from the Dubai Police account, which is followed by 258k users, blaming police for spying on citizens.
“Dubai Police is spying on you, Isn’t it fair that we the people do the same back?” the hacker tweeted from the Dubai Police Twitter account. It was accompanied by an image of four ghostly horsemen with Anonymous masks super-imposed on their faces.
The hacker also hit the Central Bank, the Noor Islamic Bank, the UAE Emergency Response Team, DU telecom and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority using DDoS attacks.
The Dubai Police social media accounts have been restored.
