March 2020

Bitdefender, a global cybersecurity leader protecting over 500 million systems in 150 countries, won its 22nd consecutive VBSpam+ certification in the latest email security tests led by renowned independent testing and certification organization Virus Bulletin.

In the Comparative Review published this month, Bitdefender Security for Mail Servers 3.1.7 achieved an impressive 99.98% detection rate for spam and a 100% catch rate for malspam (emails with malware attachments), with zero false positives.

“Although this is the 22nd time we’ve won the VBSpam+ award, we are just as proud as we were the first time,” said Jose Lopez, Bitdefender VP of Global Sales, Technology Licensing and Service Providers. “As a business critical tool, email protection is a constant challenge for companies globally. This certification again proves Bitdefender’s commitment to providing our customers and technology partners the best-in-class email security solutions by combining our award-winning AntiMalware, AntiSpam, AntiPhishing, URL reputation and Sandbox dynamic malware analysis technologies.”

Non-stop success in the AntiSpam field and the steady beat of positive reviews adds to the determination of Bitdefender teams and researchers to fend off streams of malicious or unwanted emails.

"Bitdefender has been participating in Virus Bulletin's VBSpam testing programme since its outset in 2009 and has achieved a pass in every published test it has taken part in,” said Ionuț Răileanu (VBSpam Test Lead - Virus Bulletin). “This latest award was the product's 22nd consecutive VBSpam+ award, which is the highest level certification in the programme, thus reflecting the product's ability to correctly block malicious and phishing emails combined with a quick response when filtering legitimate emails."

Bitdefender Security for Mail Servers 3.1.7 offers proactive content and attachment filtering technologies that can secure organizations’ email services, while enabling them to keep their infrastructures and employees safe.
