BitDefender announced today a staggered release schedule for the 9th generation of desktop products. The company announced that the new top of the line consumer product, BitDefender 9 Internet Security, will be released last.

"We will launch our traditional BitDefender Standard and Professional products together, as usual, but we will follow up about a month later with BitDefender 9 Internet Security, to take advantage of the increased interest in such solutions and of the buzz created by previous releases" declared Nicolae Simon, BitDefender Product Marketing Manager.

Mr. Simon went on to delineate what users might expect from the next generation of BitDefender products: "We are delivering a feature-complete solution, which includes an antispyware module completely developed in-house, new, highly sophisticated packet filtering, a parental control module and numerous improvements to the scanning engines. With the launch of antispyware and antiphishing modules in BitDefender 9, we will continue to capitalize on the on-going discontent created by the traditional players' disregard for customers' needs," Mr. Simon concluded.

BitDefender announced that feature previews will be available in the coming weeks.
