How do I update my Credit Card information?

Bitdefender customers can change their payment method and update their credit card details by following the steps described in this article. If the transaction is canceled due to various reasons, you will receive an e-mail informing you that the credit card cannot be charged.

Why was my card declined?

Your credit/debit card may be declined for several reasons. Below is a list of the most common causes and the recommended course of action for each:

Insufficient funds – Top up your account or extend your current credit limit.
Server of the card-issuing bank could not be contacted – Retry the transaction. If the issue persists, please contact your bank directly.
Card-issuing bank does not authorize online transactions – Contact the issuing bank and ask them to activate this service.
Expired card – Update your credit card information. Check out the section below to learn how to revise your payment method.

How do I update/add/delete my credit card information?

If the transaction is canceled due to insufficient funds or if the card has expired, you will receive an e-mail from 2Checkout informing you that the card cannot be charged. 2Checkout (now Verifone) is the authorized vendor of products and services sold on the official Bitdefender website.

Here’s how you can update your billing details:

Update card expiration date

To update the expiration date of a credit/debit card:

1. Go to https://store.bitdefender.com/myaccount/

2. Type the e-mail address used to purchase Bitdefender, then click on SEND ACCESS LINK.

3. You should receive shortly an email from 2Checkout (now Verifone). Please check your email and click on the link inside within 1 hour.

4. Once you click the link, the browser will open and direct you to 2Checkout MyAccount. Click the Continue button to log in.

5. Open the Payment Methods tab at the top of the site and then click the Edit button.

Add a new card

To add a new credit card:

1. Go to https://store.bitdefender.com/myaccount/

2. Type the e-mail address used to purchase Bitdefender, then click on SEND ACCESS LINK.

3. You should receive shortly an email from 2Checkout (now Verifone). Please check your email and click on the link inside within 1 hour.

4. Once you click the link, the browser will open and direct you to 2Checkout MyAccount. Click the Continue button to log in.

5. Open the My Products tab at the top of the site, then click on Update payment method on the active Bitdefender subscription.

6. A pop-up window such as the one below will open. Select New Credit Card information. Fill in the required fields, then click the Save button.

The same card can be assigned to and used for multiple Bitdefender subscriptions.

ⓘ Optionally, after associating your active subscriptions with the new card you can open the Payment Methods tab, select the old card, and click on Remove.

Delete a card

⚠ Before you delete a card, ensure it’s not linked to any subscriptions set to renew automatically. If it is, you’ll need to either switch those subscriptions to a new card or disable the auto-renewal for those specific subscriptions before deleting the card.
