Search Advisor not working in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera? Try this Quick Fix

Search Advisor rates the search results from four major web search engines (Google, Bing, Baidu, Yahoo) to warn against dangerous web pages before you access them. When you do a Google search for example, you will notice a small circle placed next to each search result that indicates whether Bitdefender considers the site reliable or not:

This is a safe page to visit.

!     This webpage may contain dangerous content. Exercise caution if you decide to visit it.

You should not visit this webpage.

If you are not seeing the checkmarks in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Opera engine results as you see in other web browsers, disable the HTTP/3 (QUIC) Protocol.

Overview

QUIC is the name for an experimental protocol created by Google. It stands for Quick UDP Internet Connection. The protocol supports a set of multiplexed connections over UDP and was designed to provide security protection equivalent to TLS/SSL, along with reduced connection and transport latency.

Some websites are not being filtered because they use the QUIC protocol. QUIC is not a standard SSL protocol, and Bitdefender’s Encrypted Web Scan feature does not support Windows browsers with HTTP/3 (QUIC) protocol enabled.

Fix Search Advisor by disabling QUIC protocol

To disable HTTP/3 (QUIC) protocol, follow the steps below in the affected browser:

After completing these instructions, Bitdefender Search Advisor should work in your web browser.
