Stuxnet - A Modest Contribution

In the wake of the Stuxnet attacks, we’ve brainstormed many ideas on how to prevent or mitigate future similar threats. One of the projects to come out of that storm relatively unscathed is the Bitdefender USB Immunizer, a simple tool that prevents viruses from setting themselves up on USB removable media.

It appears, indeed, that Stuxnet was written to “hop” from computer to computer using USB drives as vectors because some of the networks it was allegedly targeted against may have been air-gapped.

Now, you too can do your bit to prevent another Stuxnet from spreading by just plugging in your removable media and running our simple tool (which, by the way, has a project page here).
