Installing Bitdefender Client Security 3.6 protection on Windows 2000

Bitdefender Client Security enhances business productivity and reduces management and malware-related costs by enabling the centralized administration, protection and control of workstations inside companies' networks.

This article is meant to help you install Bitdefender Client Security 3.6 protection on systems running Windows 2000.

Overview

Bitdefender Client Security 3.6 delivers a number of major features and improvements over the previous version, including a new client product, Endpoint Security.

Endpoint Security by Bitdefender can be installed through the Deployment Tool, Network Builder, Automatic Deployment or by applying a security policy.

However, Endpoint Security is supported on the following workstation operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows 8
  • Microsoft Windows 7
  • Microsoft Windows Vista with Service Pack 1
  • Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 3

If you want to install Bitdefender Client Security 3.6 protection on workstations running Windows 2000, you need to install Bitdefender Business Client 3.5 (included in the Bitdefender Management Server 3.6 installation kit) using the Deployment Tool.

Installing Bitdefender Business Client on Windows 2000

To install Bitdefender Business Client on Windows 2000 machines, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Deployment Tool and deploy Bitdefender Management Agent on the Windows 2000 machines

  2. Open the Deployment Tool and deploy Bitdefender Business Client 3.5 on the Windows 2000 machines
