How to troubleshoot grayed-out Deployment Tool menu item
Bitdefender Client Security is an easy to use business security and management solution, which delivers superior proactive protection from viruses, spyware, rootkits, spam, phishing and other malware. It offers the following components: Bitdefender Management Server (with/without add-on), Bitdefender Local Update Server, Bitdefender Business Client and Bitdefender Management Agent;
In some instances, while trying to launch the Bitdefender Deployment Tool from the Tools menu in the Bitdefender Management Console, you might receive an error message saying that the application does not exist or, the option is grayed out.
This usually relates to a corrupt registry key. To correct the issue, please perform the following steps:
1. Go to Start -> Run. In the Run window, type regedit. Click OK.
2. In the Windows Registry left side, browse to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Deployment Tool
3. The data for the Path item should point to the location of the executable deploymenttool.exe
(by default, this location is C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Management Server\Bitdefender Deployment Tool\deploymenttool.exe).
Please make sure that the data in the Path entry matches the actual location of the Deployment Tool executable. If it doesn't, you will need to modify the path in the Path registry key with the correct one.
