How do I remove Bitdefender?

 If you want to remove your Bitdefender product, follow these steps:

    In Windows XP:

•         Click Start, go to Control Panel and double-click Add / Remove programs.
•         Wait a few moments until the list of installed software is displayed.
•         Find Bitdefender and select Remove.
•         Click Remove and then FULL uninstall of Bitdefender.
•         You have the following options:

               Uninstall and stay protected - will completely remove Bitdefender. Bitdefender 60-Second Virus Scanner will be installed on your system to protect you against malware.
  •             Uninstall without the app - will completely remove Bitdefender. Bitdefender 60-Second Virus Scanner will not be installed.

        Select the desired option and click Next.

•         Wait for the uninstall process to complete and then reboot your system.

    In Windows Vista and Windows 7:

•         Click Start, go to Control Panel and double-click Programs and Features.
•         Wait a few moments until the installed software list is displayed.
•         Find Bitdefender and select Uninstall.
•         Click Uninstall and then FULL uninstall of Bitdefender.
•         You have the following options:

                Uninstall and stay protected - will completely remove Bitdefender. Bitdefender 60-Second Virus Scanner will be installed on your system to protect you against malware.
  •             Uninstall without the app - will completely remove Bitdefender. Bitdefender 60-Second Virus Scanner will not be installed.

•         Wait for the uninstall process to complete and then reboot your system.

    In Windows 8:

•         From the Windows Start screen, locate Control Panel (for example, you can start typing "Control Panel" directly in the Start screen) and then click its icon.
•         Click Uninstall a program or Programs and Features.
•         Select Bitdefender Total Security and click Uninstall.
•         Click Uninstall and then FULL uninstall of Bitdefender.
•         You have the following options:

               Uninstall and stay protected - will completely remove Bitdefender. Bitdefender 60-Second Virus Scanner will be installed on your system to protect you against malware.
  •            Uninstall without the app - will completely remove Bitdefender. Bitdefender 60-Second Virus Scanner will not be installed.

        Select the desired option and click Next.

•         Wait for the uninstall process to complete and then reboot your system.
