Resolved Issues

  • Deployment tool crashed on Client Security 3.6 installed in Windows 7 with limited user rights. This issue is now fixed.

New Features and Improvements

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 and Microsoft Windows 8.1 are now supported on all localizations.

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed a copyright display issue.
  • The user control policy was not correctly applied. This issue is now fixed.
  • The antiphishing policy was not correctly applied. This issue is now fixed.
  • Web control can block websites but was unable to unblock them. This issue is now fixed.
  • In certain situations, Endpoint Security was using 50% of CPU resources. This issue is now fixed.
  • The firewall rules setting were not correctly applied for inbound and outbound connections. This issue is now fixed.
  • Could not uninstall the search advisor, which was installed by default with Endpoint Security. This issue is now fixed.
  • Resolved an Endpoint Security Relay security vulnerability
  • Solved an issue with the Downloader for Windows failing to download installation files in certain situations during Endpoint Security installation.
  • The Downloader application stopped responding when the application window was moved. This issue is now fixed



Endpoint Security - Update 5.1.11.286

New Features and Improvements

  • New possibility for Endpoint Security to scan and report detected malware for metro user interface available in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Store apps.
  • Added the option to scan also in archives with Endpoint Security Custom scan.
  • Endpoint Security was updated with the latest technology drivers available in Bitdefender.
  • New competitor products were added in the competitor detection mechanism and they will be removed during the installation (AVG Internet Security Business Edition 2013, AVG Internet Security 2014, AVG Antivirus 2014, AVG Antivirus Free 2014).
  • Endpoint Security is now compatible with Bitdefender Security for Exchange. Note: For the two products to work together on the same system, it is required that Bitdefender Security for Exchange to be installed first.

Resolved Issues

  • After installing Endpoint Security, some internal organizations trusted sites became untrusted. This issue is now fixed.
  • The Endpoint Security package displayed wrong details in the management console. This issue is now fixed.
  • Scheduled policy scan started with each restart. This issue is now fixed.
  • Windows 8.1 (64-bit) Action Center did not display the installed Endpoint Security components. This issue is now fixed.
  • Fixed some crashes and instabilities of the product.
  • Several optimizations have been added to Endpoint Security for improved stability and performance.
  • Solved some compatibility issues between Endpoint Security and DD Interceptor that generated a crash in Endpoint Security.
  • Wrong (negative or very large) number of detected issues displayed in certain situations after performing on demand scan. This issue is now fixed.
  • The quick scan automatically performed when installing Endpoint Security did not take into account the proxy settings. This issue is now fixed.
  • Web control issues were not taken into account in the Status page > Content Control section. This issue is now fixed


Limitations


Bitdefender Management Server


  • After installing Bitdefender Management Server 3.6 (or upgrading from Bitdefender Management Server 3.5), Bitdefender Business Client can only be installed or uninstalled through the Deployment Tool
  • Bitdefender Management Server requires .NET Framework 3.5 in order to be installed on Microsoft Windows Server 2012
  • Bitdefender Management Server will install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 in compatibility mode on Microsoft Windows Server 2012
  • The hotfix located at this address is required to install Bitdefender Management Server on Microsoft Windows 2003
  • Installing Bitdefender Management Server on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 terminal server requires the server to be set to “install mode”


Endpoint Security


  • The following policy settings do not work on computers protected by Endpoint Security:
    • Advanced Settings:
      • Show Bitdefender News.
      • Enable Scan Activity Bar.
    • Privacy Control
      • Registry Control.
      • Script Control.
      • Cookie Control.
    • Exclusions:
      • Manage HTTP Exceptions.
    • User Control:
      • User Control Enabled.
      • Block Web Access.
      • Allow the user to add blocked webpages to whitelist.
    • Antispam policies cannot be applied to Endpoint Security
  • Endpoint Security cannot be installed on Microsoft Windows 2000.
  • Endpoint Security does not include Antispam and Backup modules.
  • Power User mode is not available for Endpoint Security.



Bitdefender Business Client


  • Bitdefender Business Client can not be installed on Microsoft Windows 8. To protect Windows 8 machines with Bitdefender Client Security 3.6, deploy Endpoint Security.
