How to check if your PC meets the recommended system requirements

You may install Bitdefender 2013 only on computers running the following operating systems:

  • Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (32-bit)
  • Windows Vista with Service Pack 2
  • Windows 7 with Service Pack 1
  • Windows 8

Before installation, make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements:

Minimum system requirements

  • 1.8 GB available free hard disk space (at least 800 MB on the system drive)
  • 800 MHz processor
  • 1 GB of memory (RAM)

Recommended system requirements

  • 2.8 GB available free hard disk space (at least 800 MB on the system drive)
  • Intel CORE Duo (1.66 GHz) or equivalent processor
  • Memory (RAM):
    • 1 GB for Windows XP
    • 1.5 GB for Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8

To find out the Windows operating system your computer is running and hardware information follow the instructions below:

  • Locate My Computer or Computer icon on your desktop or from the Start menu and right-click on it
  • Select Properties from the menu
  • Here you can find out:
    • Windows Edition
    • Service Pack

  Note: if not specified, it means no Service Pack is installed and you should consider applying the latest Service Pack corresponding to your Operating System
