Man Sentenced in DDoS Attack on Koch Industries Subsidiary
A 22—year-old Missouri man was sentenced to 36 months’ probation for his part in the DDoS attack by hacktivist group Anonymous against Angel Soft, a subsidiary of Koch Industries, according to Softpedia News.
The man, Christopher Michael Sudlik of St. Louis, was also sentenced to 60 hours of community service and ordered to pay $110,932.71.
In 2011, the Anonymous group targeted the web site of Angel Soft as part of a campaign against Koch Industries. The DDoS attack lasted three days and, according to Koch Industries, caused a loss of few hundreds of thousands of dollars. It was carried out using the Low Orbit Ion Cannon (LOIC) tool.
