Over 78.600 RAV users moving to BitDefender last week

BitDefender, an award-winning provider of security software and services, today announces the reaching of more than 78.600 RAV protected users that decided for BitDefender security solutions during the last week, some 15.000 more than previous week figures and way over the 46.200 newly registered within the very first week.

Since recent events announcing Microsoft acquisition of RAV technologies, an increasing number of RAV oriented users have made their choice with BitDefender protection suite. Total figures so far rise up to some 142.000 new BitDefender users migrating from RAV solutions. Improving evolution for this particular topic, as statistics record a 27.8% growth regarding the number of users that move to BitDefender on a weekly basis.

This formal display of numbers is meant to draw a trend; besides the large number of users passing to BitDefender antivirus solutions, last weeks have proven the same tendency for distributors agreements. Considering the particular circumstances entailed by RAV leaving antivirus international markets, BitDefender showed its complete understanding and support for all affected clients. �We wanted to assure people that every problem has indeed a solution � in this specific case, BitDefender can provide former RAV clients with advanced technology and dependable, permanent services able to meet everyone�s security needs� states Bogdan Irina, BitDefender Marketing and Sales Manager.

Upon these considerations, BitDefender launched a Linux campaign, that is to be running from 12th of June to December 31st 2003 in order to attract former RAV customers. The offer consists of a serious 60% cut-off from BitDefender Linux-based antivirus solutions for all RAV Antivirus clients and users.

At this moment, negociations are beeing carried out with some 25 former RAV partners shaping a rather large area: Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Italy, France, Spain, Czech Republic, UK, Australia, USA, Canada, Mexico, Panama, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Japan.

Some of the former RAV partners have already chosen Bitdefender antivirus solutions.
