BitDefender Receives Advanced+ Certification in Proactive Malware Detection
Top Certification from AV-Comparatives Awarded for Excellent Scores in Threat Detection with Low False Positive Rates
BitDefender╝, an award-winning provider of innovative anti-malware security solutions, announced today that BitDefender Antivirus 2010 received the top certification level from AV-Comparatives for its excellent ability to detect malware in infected PCs while providing a low false positive rate.
In the second half of the August 2009 report, AV-Comparatives tested 16 antivirus products to determine which software had the best ability to detect malware while providing the lowest possible false positive rate. AV-Comparatives used a 4-level ranking system: Tested, Standard, Advanced, and Advanced+. The results were published in November due to the in-depth analysis performed, and preparation of the retrospective test-set, which used malware that appeared August 11th to the 17th.
⌠BitDefender is extremely happy that Antivirus 2010 has received Advanced+ Certification in malware detection while providing the lowest false positive rate out of all tested products,■ said Viorel Canja, BitDefender▓s head of antimalware lab. ⌠Out of the eight products that received the Advanced+ rating, four employ BitDefender technology, further proving our commitment to malware detection.■
