License errors for Bitdefender Scanner for Unices
Bitdefender Antivirus Scanner for Unices is a versatile on-demand scanner for Linux and FreeBSD systems. The stand-alone scanner protects both UNIX-based and Windows- based disk partitions by scanning for viruses and spyware. Easy to use graphical user interface complements a powerful command line interface that fully supports operating systems scripting tools. The scanner works stand-alone without needing any Centralized Management or local Update Servers.
After changing an expired license key or after the renewal of an expired license key for BitDefender Antivirus Scanner for Unices, the following error may occur: “Your license has expired”. This error can appear both in CLI or GUI, even if the license is valid and properly added into the configuration file named /opt/BitDefender-scanner/etc/bdscan.conf .
In order to remediate this problem, the next two steps must performed:
- Login as root into the console and remove the next file:
# rm -f /opt/BitDefender-scanner/var/bddt.dat
- Update the product in order to recreate the file with the correct values:
# /opt/BitDefender-scanner/bdscan --update
