Troubleshooting the install/uninstall process


Detailed description:

 

  1. Save this file on your computer.
  2. Double-click install_debug.reg - this creates a new registry key instructing Windows Installer to run in debug mode.
  3. Before proceeding it would be useful to delete any other MSI logs that might be present in the %TEMP% folder. To access this folder it simply open a Windows explorer window and type %TEMP% in the address bar as shown in the screenshot below:
 

  1. Begin the installation (or the uninstall process depending on the situation).
  2. After the install wizard rolls back or the error is encountered please collect the newest install log that matches the wildcard MSI*.log  from the temporary location (%TEMP%)
