Registering BitDefender 9

The registration process includes two main steps that need to be performed: the product registration and the online registration.

1. The product registration process implies the use of the license key, received at the purchase moment, to activate the installed product. After completing this stage the 30 trial days product will turn into the registered BitDefender version. In order to perform the product registration please follow the steps below:
1. Make sure the computer uses the correct current date and year. Then open BitDefender;
2. Click General and then Registration at the top;
3. Click Enter new key... to open the registration form. This window contains the text boxes where you will need to type the key and the buttons to complete the process. Each box holds 5 characters. The Register button is dimmed out untill all the text boxes are filled;
4. Type the license key and then click Register. The licence key can be retrieved from the product registration card, the CD-ROM label or the purchase confirmation email. The license key contains 20 characters including digits from 0 to 9 and letters from A to F;
5. Check the Product ID and the date when the product will expire within BitDefender.

2. The online registration process involves associating the license key with your contact information the BitDefender website, in order to be informed about special upgrade offers, discounts for license renewals, access to beta versions of BitDefender and 24/7 free priority technical support. Please follow the steps below in order to register online:
1. Open BitDefender;
2. Click General and then Registration at the top;
3. Click Online registration. In few moments the browser will open and a web form will be displayed;
4. Provide the correct contact information (email address and name) and then click Next;
5. Enter the license key and press Finish. Your account has been created (at the moment it is inactive) and a confirmation email has been sent to the supplied address;
6. Search for the message in your Inbox (you may have to search in the Junk Email/Spam folders also). Once the email has been found, click on the included link or copy and paste it into your browser to confirm and enable your account.
